Wearing mascara to enhance your lashes helps to make your eyes “pop”!
{1}Accentuating your lashes: Use two coats of your favorite mascara on your top lashes and one coat on your bottom lashes.
{2}Waterproof and water-resistant formula: Waterproof formulas are a great choice for special occasions, such as weddings or graduation so that if you shed a tear, your mascara is less likely to smear.
{3}Mascara Removal: You can remove many formulas of mascara with your facial cleanser and water but if the mascara formula is waterproof, I recommend using a gentle waterproof eye makeup remover and then following that by using your regular facial cleanser and water.
{4}Black Mascara: Applying black mascara is a mainstay for many makeup artists because it tends to look good on every eye color.
{5}Colored Mascara: Brown mascara looks great on blue, green or hazel eyes. Blue, violet or plum mascara looks great on blue, green or hazel eyes.
{6}Applying False Lashes: To enhance your own natural lashes or if your own lashes are very sparse, you can add false lashes either by buying them and putting them on yourself or going to a salon that does false lash application and paying to have them applied. False lashes usually come with lash adhesive in the package when you purchase them but not always. False lash adhesive is also sold separately. Add a few small drops of lash adhesive to the false lash strip and then place the false lash strip along your natural lash line (one eye at a time); Position the false lash strip exactly where you want it to lay before you add the adhesive as a sort of test application. If you’re adding individual false lashes, take the individual false lash and dip the strip end into the adhesive. Then place the individual false lash where you want it to accent your lashes.
{7}Removing False Lashes: This can be a delicate process. Be careful to be very gentle and take your time when removing false lashes so that you don’t accidentally take any of your real lashes off along with the false ones. One technique that I have used on myself to remove false lashes is by using a waterproof eye makeup remover. Saturate a cotton makeup remover pad with waterproof eye makeup remover and place it over your eyelid with your eye closed (one eye at a time). Gently rub the pad over your lash line which should loosen up the eyelash adhesive enough for you to grab the adhesive and gently peel the adhesive away. You can follow that by rinsing your face with your regular facial cleanser and warm water.
{8}Bedazzled False Lashes:There are false lashes on the market that are bedazzled with various designs, such as metallic strips on the baseline area of the false lash strip or miniature rhinestones for that extra touch of glitz and glam! These can be fun to wear for a party or special occasion!
{9}Waterproof Topcoats: There are topcoats available that can make any formula mascara waterproof by acting as an overcoat to your lashes. Some topcoats have color to them; if the overcoat is tinted, it will generally specify somewhere on the packaging. There are also clear formulas that they can be worn over any shade of mascara.
Bonus Tip: For a more dramatic look, try using two different mascara formulas at the same time!
