Here are some basic tips that can help make applying eye shadow easy and accentuate your eyes:
{1}When using two shades, apply the lighter color under your brow bone, the deeper shade on the lid or in the crease.
{2} If you have three colors, the lightest goes under the brow bone, the medium color goes in the crease and the darkest shade on the lid.
{3}If you are trying to downplay the size of your eyes, then I would suggest using a darker shade shadow under your brow bone and a lighter shade shadow in the crease and on the lid.
{4}Regardless of your choice of eye shadow application, always remember to blend your eye shadow well using an eye shadow applicator or eye shadow brush. Blending ensures a smoother, more finished look.
{5}For a sexy accent to your eye shadow application, add some shimmery or sparkly eye dust or powder under your brow bone and over your regular eye shadow. Be sure that the sparkly eye dust or powder is specifically made to wear on and around your eye area. If a product is made to be used on or around the eye area,it usually is written someplace on the packaging. The skin around your eye is delicate so always be sure to treat it gently.
{6}When in doubt about how much eye shadow to put on your applicator or brush, I recommend starting with just a very small amount of eye shadow to begin with and take a look at your eye in the mirror. If it looks like there’s enough color already than stop there. If you feel like you need a bit more, add a little more. Breaking the process down to a step at a time helps to allow you to feel more comfortable with the end look; much like in blush application, it’s called building your color and it’s a great technique to use as your getting comfortable with the way you like to wear your eye shadow. Eye shadow is an excellent way to accentuate your gorgeous eyes and draw attention to their beauty!
{7} To get that beautiful smokey eye look, take a darker shadow-dark brown, dark plum, deep grey ,deep purple or black and blend it over the lid of your eye starting at the inner corners sweeping outward towards the outer corners.Make sure you blend the shadow very well. Then take a lighter eye shadow -shade of white, nude, champagne color or pearl and apply it above the deeper shade on your lid to the area underneath your brow bone. You can follow the shadow application with an eyeliner that matches the darker colored eye shadow on your lid and extend the line slightly out at the corner of your eyes closest to your temples. You can line either your upper lashes or lower or both. Do a trial application and see which way you’re more comfortable with. Black eyeliner can always be used as an option to draw a smokey eye, if you prefer it to the other eyeliner colors.
{8}Trying to make your eye shadow wear longer? Try using an eye shadow primer underneath your eye shadow application. Eye shadow primers are available in various formulas; some are colorless and some have color to them. Some formulas of eye shadow primers can be worn underneath the eye shadow or alone for a subtle lid enhancement. Try different formulas of eye shadow primers and different combinations of shadows and primers to determine which looks you like the most for your gorgeous eyes.
