The objective when you’re blending your makeup is for the makeup application to have a smooth and refined finish. Here are some tips and techniques I’ve found to be helpful:
{1}I’ve discovered that using light, soft, gentle strokes gives you better control of your makeup brush, applicator or sponge. This technique will help to avoid accidentally rubbing your foundation, concealer or primer off onto the brush or sponge instead of applying it onto your skin.
{2}Practice blending your makeup with a makeup brush, applicator or sponge in front of a mirror slowly at first so that you can see where you’re applying and get a feel for what you’re doing at the same time. Practicing is the key to becoming knowledgeable and comfortable with your makeup blending skills.
{3}Adequate lighting is always a plus when you’re blending your makeup. If the room you’re applying your makeup in doesn’t have enough of it’s own light source than you can add more lighting by using a lighted makeup mirror or adding some separate light fixtures.
{4}To improve your view even further, use a magnified makeup mirror. Magnified makeup mirrors are sold in various strengths and can enlarge your view so that when you’re applying your makeup, you can see things more closely. Everyone needs different degrees of magnification to be able to see their makeup clearly, therefore I recommend trying a few different magnification levels to determine which one works best for you.
Ultimately, it should always be about your comfort level and making you feel confident when applying your makeup.
